Wildcat Golf Club Highlands in Houston is the first of Wildcat's two courses and a standout in Texas golf. This links-style, par-72 layout features 6,954 yards from the back tees (four other tees start at 5,005 yards) and notable elevation changes, blind shots, and high fun factor. Designed by Roy Case—who also created the Lakes Course—Highlands opened in 2001 on a reclaimed oil-field and landfill site, with pump jacks remaining on the property as part of its character. Guests are treated to dramatic views: due north the NRG Stadium, the Medical Center, downtown Houston, and the Williams Tower in the Galleria are visible from several holes. Native grasses frame fairways, while strategic bunkering and elevation shifts deliver visual deception and Houston-style challenge. The semi-private club is a local favorite, occasionally hosting sports celebrities. Practice facilities include a double-sided range, vast short-game area, and a practice bunker, with Vista Grille offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For tee times, book with GolfWithBrio.
